Awareness camp Creating a Better Future

We organized an Awareness Camp for the children of our Pathshala, focusing on essential life lessons such as right and wrong decisions, acceptable and unacceptable behaviors, and fostering positive behavioral attitudes. The camp emphasized the importance of mutual respect, standing up against injustice, and developing a strong moral foundation. We successfully conducted this event, and it was heartwarming to see both the children and their mothers genuinely delighted. They appreciated not only the gifts but also the impactful session designed to help the children grow into responsible and compassionate human beings. This Awareness Camp played a crucial role in character building and nurturing values that will shape their future.

This Durga Puja, the spirit of joy and giving took center stage as we celebrated one of Bengal’s most prestigious festivals by gifting new clothes and sarees to the underprivileged children of Sahajpath Pathsala and their mothers. The occasion was filled with happiness and togetherness as we came together to share the joy of Durga Puja with those who are less fortunate.

Our initiative aimed to spread festive cheer and empower families, ensuring that they too experience the warmth and excitement of the season. By providing new clothes and sarees, we not only contributed to the celebration of Durga Puja but also brought smiles to the faces of children and mothers in need.

Foundation Day Celebration with a Purpose

On our Foundation Day 29-07-2024, we celebrated with meaningful activities at Sahajpath. The children and their mothers took part in a tree-planting initiative around our pathsala in Bakkhali, contributing to local environmental efforts.

In addition, we held a Voluntary Blood Donation Camp in support of children affected by Thalassemia. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the donors who came forward to support this crucial cause.

As a gesture of appreciation and to underline our commitment to environmental sustainability, each blood donor received a tree as a gift. This symbolizes not only the life-saving importance of blood donation but also our dedication to nurturing the planet.

Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this event a success. Together, we are positively impacting the lives of children and our environment.

Monsoon Event at Sahajpath Pathsala

Little Sunshine 2.0

As the monsoon season approaches, a heartwarming initiative has brought smiles to the faces of students of Sahajpath Pathsala in Bakkhali. A kind donation of umbrellas and raincoats has been distributed among these young minds, ensuring they can continue their daily routine without worrying about the rain. The donation drive, organized by OCWE aims to support students from low-income backgrounds who often struggle to afford basic necessities like rain gear. The umbrellas and raincoats will not only keep them dry but also boost their confidence and enthusiasm for learning. The recipients of this thoughtful gesture were overjoyed, expressing their gratitude and excitement to continue their studies without interruption. This act of kindness has not only provided them with a sense of security but also reminded them that their community cares about their well-being. As the monsoon season unfolds, these umbrellas and raincoats will serve as symbols of hope and compassion, inspiring others to make a difference in the lives of those around them.

Be Someone’s Santa 2.0

On 1st January 2024, we started our year bringing smiles to people of Durganagar village which is located close to Bakkhali. We started our journey early morning from Sealdah and reached the place where we were welcomed by people who treated us like family. The hospitality was amazing. We met the kids who were excited and had hope in their eyes. Their families were really dedicated to the education and well being of their wards. Our purpose was to setup a school for imparting education the rural children who will be taught regularly by a teacher whom they know, love and respect. One who belongs to their village. We performed puja at the school. We did our bit by distributing notebooks and stationary items along with clothes for the children. We also provided blankets to their families. We were graced by the presence of the village elder who was very supportive. The place along with amazing people has a scenic beauty which is appealing, it’s a simple yet beautiful village with hardworking and hopeful people who deserve your attention efforts and support. Hope they pass this year’s puja well. At noon we spent the day happily eating together with the children and some of the villagers.

The "Bornoporichoy"

Besides Sundarbans this time we reached Murshidabad, it would be wrong to call the place a city, rather the place is a tribal village about 35 km from the city. The name of the village is Hizrol, Suormari-danga where the people of the tribal community live. Their main livelihood is agriculture. All the study materials have been delivered to the children of a school in that village and sanitary napkins for one month have been given to the women of the village.

Blood to Breathe

A Blood Donation camp was organized by our organization at Thalassemic Guardian Association Day Care Center on 7th May 2023 on the occasion of World Thalassemia Day. It was our little attempt to make the life of thalassemic patients a little easier on the path of life. This day was very important during the summer blood shortage problem. A total of 118 blood donors donated blood in the said blood donation camp and made the blood donation camp a grand success.

Project ALO

‘Alo’ is a new project of our organization. Light removes all the darkness in our life. Our initiative is based on the idea that physical complications do not bring any darkness in the lives of these people on the outskirts of Shitaliya village of Sundarbans, so that they too can lead a beautiful and healthy life. Through this project we will hand over sanitary napkins to these people of Sundarbans every month which are very necessary in their daily life. We delivered 50 packets of sanitary napkins to Shitaliya village in Sundarbans in April, 2023 to make the women of the village aware of their health. There are many more works coming in the future under our ‘Project Alo’.

Project Bornoporichoy

In the first phase, we have been able to hand over 200 notebooks to the students of Anand Niketan Pathshala in Sundarbans through Project Bornoporichoy. Apart from Sundarbans, our organization has taken the initiative of providing books, pens and pencils, i.e. all study materials, to some schools in several other districts throughout the year, all the study materials will be provided by us to the children of the school there.

Women Empowerment Program

The women’s self-reliance project runs in some villages of Sundarbans. The self-reliance project currently runs in the villages where our Schools are located. They do sewing, rearing chickens, rearing goats, making kantha, making ghee etc. We sell these things made by them in Kolkata and among people in different parts of the country. The profit earned from this gives the women money which motivates them to work more. As a result of this income, the men as well as the women of the house become self-reliant and are able to meet the needs of the family. In addition to earning, their handiwork spread to different people from different parts of the country. Through this, in our patriarchal society, women become equal to men, their respect in society increases and to a large extent, women reach higher positions than men.
